Sutlej Textiles and Industries Ltd (STIL), an ISO 9001:2008 certified Company is one of the largest integrated textile manufacturing companies and is having strong position in the Indian Textile sector in the manufacturing of value added synthetic, Natural and Blended yarns, all types of spun yarns, processing of fabrics and Home Textile Furnishing.


STIL is a one-stop-shop for all kinds of spun dyed yarn from natural or manmade fibres across any blend any shade in the count range of 6s- 50s. STIL is one of the largest manufacturers of Value Added Mélange Yarn in India. It is having the capacity to manufacture single-ply, double-ply and multiply grindle, roving grindle core spun, slub and other fancy yarns.


STIL enhanced its spun-dyed yarn manufacturing capacity at its plant at Jammu & Rajasthan by 110 per cent over the decade leading to an average daily yarn production of over 225 tonnes. Besides, with acquisition of unit – Birla Textile Mills from Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd., having installed capacity of 83,376 spindles to produce 60 tonnes per day of spun yarn, STIL’s total spinning capacity has enhanced to 3,77,112 spindles and daily production upto 385 tons dyed synthetic and blended yarns, cotton mélange and cotton blended mélange and dyed yarns, yarn from speciality fibres like Modal, Tencel, bamboo, coolmax, fancy yarns like Siro spun, siro compact, lycra twisted, core spun, double core yarn etc., in single ply, double ply and multifold.

One of the primary reasons behind STIL’s success in meeting its customer’s requirement consistently over the years has been the Company’s consistent investment in installing state-of-the-art technology machines. Over the decade, the Company has invested about Rs.1060 crore in expansion, modernization, acquisition and cutting-edge technology. Nearly 56% of its spindleage is less than a decade old.


STIL is one of India's largest exporters and manufacturers of value-added synthetic, blended spun dyed yarn. STIL has invested in deepening longstanding relationships with marquee customers like Page Industries, Siyaram’s, Donear, Shivalik Prints, Digjam, Raymonds Grasim, etc. in India, customers across the globe and the development of multiple products across multiple grades. The Company selects to market products in the early stage of its life cycle, helping strengthen the business of its downstream customers. It enjoys enduring relationships with an extensive network of agents and dealers across India and abroad. STIL has global footprint with market presence in over 60 countries across Europe, North America, South-East Asia.


The Company’s exports accounts for around 26 per cent of 2014-15 revenues compared to 25 per cent in 2013-14. On back of strong brand image across globe, company had earned revenues from overseas sale of traded goods as well.


STIL entered the home textiles segment in 2006-07 through Damanganga Home Textiles. The plant is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to produce furnishing fabrics, curtain fabrics, upholstery fabrics, bed covers, bed spreads and made-ups. STIL ventured into the home textiles segment to address a growing market of premium home textiles. The division is equipped with a world-class design facility comprising cutting-edge German design software. Its facilities also comprise a full-fledged testing laboratory with latest equipment for testing yarns and fabrics. New designs were introduced to cater to a widening market worldwide. The installed capacity of the unit is 5.0 million meters per annum which is being expanded by 4.6 million meters per annum totaling 9.6 million meters per annum by 2017. Increased presence in Home Textile segment will result in further strengthening of Company’s end to end operations – Yarn to Home Textile


The R&D Division of company has well-equipped state-of-the-art quality testing and development equipment, managed by a committed team of highly qualified and experienced professionals, which helps in accelerating new product and design development. It has a separate melange development centre having machines from blow room to finishing with 768 spindles and knitting machines for quick preparation of samples in knitted form and a PV development centre with 384 spindles and other machines for development of synthetic blended yarn. At STIL, resilience is derived from the ability to understand customer needs, create differentiated products, invest in enduring relationships, reduce costs, and enhance quality.


During the year 2014-15, the Company has achieved a turnover of Rs.1918 Crores out of which earnings from exports incl. incentives is Rs.495 Crores. STIL has won President’s Award for exemplary export performance twice in the past. STIL has also won Export Awards from the Synthetic & Rayon Textile Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC).


STIL has also been conferred with “Three Star Export House” Certificate from Government of India. Company’s products are available at competitive prices and are benchmarked to the international quality standards – ISO 9001 and Uster quality certifications.

Total employees strength is 14,948 as on September 30, 2015 and indirect is about 9,000.
